It contains the drug filgrastim, which stimulates the bone marrow to produce more infection-fighting cells. Uses Doctors commonly give Imumax 300 mcg injection for: Preventing infection after chemotherapy for cancer Treating neutropenia (low white blood cell count) Recovery after bone marrow transplant Low WBC in HIV patients Stem cell donation preparation How it works It acts like a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It stimulates the bone marrow to produce more neutrophils (a type of white blood cell). More neutrophils help the body fight infections better. Common side effects Some people may experience: Bone pain Weakness or fatigue Headache Nausea or vomiting Injection site pain/redness Important points Usually given under the skin (subcutaneous) or IV by a doctor/nurse.
